An impoverished village on the S.W. outskirts of Arequipa - Peru, its 12,500 inhabitants are just recently getting water and sewer installed for the first time. There are still no quality schools and few churches in the area. Many of its senior citizen residents, children, and people in general do not have an adequate diet to maintain good health.

We are currently constructing a church/school on site that all ready is housing a meal facility for the poor. We desire to invest in the formation of young lives and minds in Peru as they are the future of their country, society, and the future heads of their own families.

One of our varied efforts to raise capital within Peru for the Torre Fuerte Family Home for Girls is with the start-up of small businesses. We have started up 2 more small business which are generating an additional income for the care of our children. These are a mini market that also doubles as a cafe for lunch meals and a candy kiosk. While Peru is a poor country there continues to be a need to supply food, school supplies, meals, hygeine sundry items, inexpensive gifts, etc... to its people, just as in any other country. We decided to meet that need and it is working! Our profit margins are immensly larger than that of our former mattress factory with a much lower overhead. Located on a bus line, taxi route, and right next door to a clothing factory, we opened our doors to an instant clientele. As funding is made available, we will continue to expand the infrastructure to bring in more display cabinets, shelving, and merchandise.

We continue to look for different ways to generate an income with in Peru itself. Included with this is networking with local business owners, different professionals, and governmental entities. All this is designed to lessen, as much as possible, a dependence on outside sources. However, the reality is that we will continue to need as much help as can be found from abroad for the long-term care of the children. The term Global Village, when one takes a sincere look at it, means that we are all inter-connected and responsible for the well being of each other and of all our children that we have in common.
